RECO / TRESA · Eligibility
Corporate name holds the corporation out as a brokerage
What the rule requires
No naming format is prescribed. What the regulation forbids is representing to the public that the corporation trades in real estate, so the name must not read as a brokerage.
Authority: O. Reg. 536/20, s. 3 ¶3 (public representation)
What goes wrong
The corporate name reads as a brokerage. A personal real estate corporation is not registered under TRESA and must not carry on business as a brokerage or represent to the public that it trades in real estate, so a name in this form is a standing public representation of something the corporation is not permitted to do.
